Lot # 662: Signed 1929 Zeenut PCL Ernie Lombardi with Coupon PSA GOOD 2 with MINT 9 Signature - The ONLY PSA-Graded Example!

Attractive example of Hall of Famer Ernie Lombardi of the Oakland Oaks, one of the key cards in the 1929 Zeenut PCL series, with the original coupon attached to the bottom. Zeenuts are scarce to begin with, but they rarely survive with coupons intact. The coupons were intended to be cut off by youngsters and redeemed for prizes. This is one of only three cards of Lombardi issued during his playing days in the PCL (the others are the 1928 and 1930 Zeenuts, which the 1930 is also offered in this auction). The offered example is all the more noteworthy as it is signed by Lombardi in blue ink on the reverse. PSA/DNA has graded the signature MINT 9 and the card GOOD 2. This is the ONLY signed example of this card ever encapsulated by PSA/DNA and we cannot imagine that many period signed examples even exist (amazingly we have two different ones in this current auction)! This is a rarely offered Zeenut candy card featuring a Hall of Famer with coupon intact, and the added significance of being signed by the respective player.
