Description

1939 Baseball Centennial first-day cover boldly signed by Ty Cobb in green ink. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, with the signature graded MINT 9. The envelope bears a "Jun 12, 1939, Cooperstown N.Y." postmark and three-cent Baseball Centennial stamp. Cobb was one of the original five members elected to the Hall of Fame in 1936 and was also one of the 11 living players inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 1939 dedication ceremonies. As such, his signature on any 1939 first-day cover, especially a high-grade example such as this, is highly prized by collectors. The envelope (6.5 x 3.5 inches) has a typed address and is in Excellent condition overall.
