Lot # 2923: 1950s Roy Rogers Complete and Near-Complete Set Collection (10) Including Post Cereal Badges and Pop-Out Cards

Presented is a very attractive and substantial collection of 1950s Roy Rogers cards and memorabilia (235 items) from various publishers. Actor, singer, and rodeo performer Roy Rogers, "The King of Cowboys," was an American cultural phenomenon by the 1950s, resulting in a myriad of collectible offerings for his many fans. This collection consists of the following:

1) 1950s English/French/Dutch Roy Rogers Adventures 3-D (44 cards) Plus 3-D Glasses: This set is a European re-issue of Post's 3-D issue. Includes card numbers #1-44 while missing #26, 31, and 43, and including #31a, 38a, and 38b. Condition is Vg to Vg-Ex overall, with a couple slightly higher and lower. The 3-D glasses are in Very Good condition.

2) 1950s Post Cereal Roy Rogers Western Medals (Badges) Complete Set (27) Plus Four Duplicates: Condition ranges from Vg to Ex-Mt (averaging Vg-Ex/Ex), with a couple slightly lower. Four badges are enclosed in original translucent wax wrappers, with one wrapper in Poor condition. Includes the following four duplicates: Dale Evans, Dale's Brand, Roy's Boots, and Texas Longhorn.

3) 1950s Post Cereal Pop Out Cards Complete Set (36): Condition is 22% Ex to Ex-Mt, 66% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 12% lesser.

4) 1950s Frontiers Inc. Post Cereal Roy Rogers Jigsaws Complete Set (6): Condition is Vg-Ex to Ex overall.

5) 1953 Post Cereal Rings Near-Complete Set (10/12): Condition ranges from Pr-Fr to Vg-Ex (averaging Gd). Missing Roy Rogers and Roy's Holster for completion.

6) 1953 Post Cereal Grape-Nuts Flakes Pin Backs Complete Set (15): Condition ranges from Ex to Nr/Mt (averaging Ex-Mt). Consists of Roy Rogers/blue background variation.

7) 1953 Post Cereal Grape-Nuts Flakes Pin Backs Canadian Near-Complete Set (11/15) Plus One Duplicate: Condition ranges from Ex to Nr/Mt (averaging Ex-Mt), with two lesser Missing Bullet, Roy Rogers 1/2 view, Roy's Guns and Roy's Saddle for completion. The duplicate of "Roy Rogers Sheriff" is an interesting printing error with completely miscut centering.

8) 1955 The Times Co. Roy Rogers In Old Amarillo Complete Set (24): Condition is 45% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt and 55% Vg-Ex to Ex (including a couple lesser and some due to missing surface gloss).

9) 1955 The Times Co. Roy Rogers South of Caliente Complete Set (24): Condition is 54% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 29% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 17% Vg to Vg-Ex.

10) 1958 Kane Color Roy Rogers Complete Set (25): Condition is 72% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (mostly Nr/Mt due to centering) and 28% Ex to Ex-Mt (including one slightly lesser).

11) Additional Items (7): 1948 contest entry confirmation postcard (postal use, otherwise Vg), 1951 Post Cereal Spoiler of the Plains box puzzle (Fr due to jagged hand cut and small tear), two 1953 Sugar Crisp intact panels with two cards and 3-D glasses (Ex and Vg-Ex), 1950s Deputy Sheriff whistle badge (Ex-Mt), 1950s Roy Roger's Riders Lucky Piece coin (Ex-Mt), and 1950s Green Duck Co. pin (light tape residue, otherwise Ex-Mt).
