Presented is a rarely seen complete set of thirty-nine "Colour Comic Cards" issued by Parkhurst in 1951. These cards, which measure 1.75 x 2.5 inches, feature characters from a variety of comics, including Popeye and Dick Tracy, in full-color scenes on front. Three different style reverses are featured throughout this set: one is entirely blank (thirty-two), one advertises for the Star Weekly newspaper (six), and one advertises a Frostade promotion for a toy gun (one). Condition is 25% Ex to Ex-Mt, 44% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 31% lesser (including some due to miscut centering). This is a very attractive complete set of this rare Canadian issue that would be a worthy addition to any comic-related or advanced nonsport-card collection. Total: 39 cards.
