Description

Complete 135-card set of 1952 Topps "Look 'n See," one of the great classics of early 1950s nonsport card issues and one of the earliest of all Topps sets. "Look 'n See" is one of the most highly regarded and collected of all postwar sets. This was an extremely ambitious concept for a set, with a strong historical and educational content. The card fronts feature full-color portraits of famous people from all eras and areas of history. Any kid collecting and studying this set could not help but learn about and develop a greater interest in world history. Includes two duplicates (#21 Franklin and 78). Condition is 5% Nr/Mt, 44% Ex to Ex-Mt, 34% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 17% lesser (including seven with slight trims). Keys: #15 Ruth (SGC GOOD 2), 30 Lindbergh (slight trim and altered, otherwise Ex), 45 Earhart (Pr due to one-inch tear), 82 Rembrandt (Fr), and 104 Queen Elizabeth II (Fr due to glue on reverse). This classic and always very popular nonsport set is filled with many great historical figures. This is an attractive and mostly mid-grade complete set of this scarce and very noteworthy early Topps issue. Total: 137 cards (set of 135 plus two duplicates).
