Description

Presented is a very substantial collection of 1952 Topps "Look 'n See," one of the classics of early 1950s nonsport card issues and one of the earliest of all Topps sets. The collection consists of a near-complete set of 120 different cards (out of 135 in the set) plus 231 duplicates, for a total of 351 cards. Missing the following fifteen cards for completion: #4, 5, 15 Ruth, 20 Einstein, 21, 29, 30 Lindbergh, 45 Earhart, 51, 56, 78, 82 Rembrandt, 101, 104, and 113. "Look 'n See" is one of the most highly regarded and collected of all postwar sets. This was an extremely ambitious concept for a set, with a strong historical and educational content. The card fronts feature full-color portraits of famous people from all eras and areas of history. Any kid collecting and studying this set could not help but learn about and develop a greater interest in world history. Condition is 15% Vg-Ex to Ex, 48% Gd to Vg, and 37% lesser. Keys: Two #1 Roosevelt (pen on reverse, otherwise Vg and Pr). This classic and always very popular nonsport set is filled with many great historical figures. This is an attractive medium- to lower-grade collection of this scarce and very noteworthy early Topps issue. Total: 351 cards.
