Lot # 2954: 1965 Topps "Gilligan's Island" Complete Set (55) Plus Wrapper

Presented is an impressive 55-card complete set of 1965 Topps "Gilligan's Island" trading cards accompanied by an original wax wrapper. Gilligan’s Island was a sensation in 1965, and one of the few television shows of the 1960s to survive with its popularity intact to this day. The Topps set issued in 1965 is, not surprisingly, extremely popular with collectors. The black-and-white cards feature the stars of the show Alan Hale, Jr. and Bob Denver and other cast members in various scenes from the television show. Thirteen of the cards in this set show faint evidence of past storage under corner mounts and have been slightly downgraded accordingly. The condition is 40% Ex to Ex-Mt and 60% Vg to Vg-Ex (including one with a slight miscut). The wrapper, which is also particularly rare, grades Very Good. Very attractive mid-grade complete set of this unbelievably rare 1960s Topps nonsport issue that would be a significant addition to any nonsport-card collection.
