Lot # 2964: 1968 Topps A & BC "Superman in the Jungle" Complete Set (66) Plus Wrapper

Exceptionally attractive 66-card complete set of "Superman in the Jungle" produced by A & BC Company in 1968 and featuring illustrated full-color scenes of Superman and his adventures. Included is an original wrapper. The A & BC Company was a British manufacturer licensed by Topps to produce and distribute cards in England. Many of the company's sets are actually identical in design to American Topps sets, but are smaller and in several cases are actually scarcer than their American counterparts. The American version of the "Superman in the Jungle" series was issued by Topps in the United States on a test basis in advance of the A & BC issue; we offer here (noted again to be sure to avoid any confusion!) the A & BC Company set that was issued in England. (The American version of the set is extremely rare and ranks among the most sought-after and hard-to-find nonsport cards of the era.) The condition is 68% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt (including a couple Nr/Mt-Mt) and 32% Vg-Ex to Ex (including one slightly lesser). All cards are bright and crisp. A portion of the original wrapper has been trimmed away. This is an outstanding complete set of this scarce A & BC Company issue, worthy of even the most advanced nonsport-card collection.
