Description

One of the most popular and colorful trading-card sets of the post-WWII era, Bowman Gum's "Red Menace" set was produced during the heart of the Cold War and captures the political spirit of the times. This set consists of 46 white backs and two gray backs (#25 [Ex] and 34 [Ex]). Condition is 20% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 61% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 19% Gd to Vg (including one lesser). Eight cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA: #2 (EX 5), 11 (EX-MT 6), 12 (EX-MT 6), 29 (EX-MT 6), 30 (NM 7), 37 (EX-MT+ 6.5), 42 (EX 5), and 48 (EX 5). Keys: #1 "Reds Invade South Korea" (Vg), 19 "Atomic Doom" (Ex), 23 "Ghost City" (Vg), and 47 "War-Maker" (Ex). Very attractive mid- to high-grade complete set of this classic, and extremely historically significant, 1950s nonsport issue. Total: 48 cards.
