Presented is a very attractive complete set of 1960 Leaf cards, including both variations of #25 Jim Grant for a total of 145 cards. Leaf packaged these glossy black-and-white cards with marbles in an attempt to navigate contract terms with players, which dictated that only Topps could issue cards of modern ballplayers with bubble gum. Condition is 16% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 56% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 28% Gd to Vg (including a couple lesser). Keys: #1 Aparicio (Vg-Ex), 25a Grant/white cap (Ex), 25b Grant/dark cap (Vg-Ex+), 27 B. Robinson (Ex-Mt), 37 Snider (Vg), 69 Wilhelm (Ex), 94 Baseball’s Two Hal Smiths (Vg-Ex+), 125 Anderson (next card showing, otherwise Ex), 128 Cepeda (Vg), 141 Flood (Vg+), and 144 Bunning (Vg). One of the era’s most unusual and interesting issues! Total: 145 cards (set of 144 plus one variation).
