Presented is a complete 79-card set of 1960 Fleer All-Time Greats. This is a very attractive set of one of card collecting's all-time great sets (no pun intended!) featuring old-timers, which was no doubt the introduction to baseball history for countless thousands of youngsters. Condition is 42% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including a couple higher), 47% Ex to Ex-Mt (due mostly to centering), and 11% Vg to Vg-Ex. Four cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (3) and BVG (1). Keys: #3 Ruth (BVG NM-MT+ 8.5), 6 Johnson (Nr/Mt), 28 Gehrig (NM-MT 8), 42 Cobb (NM 7), 62 Wagner (Nr/Mt+), and 72 T. Williams (EX-MT 6). In 1960, Fleer would have preferred to put out a set featuring current stars, but was unable to do so due to Topps' ironclad contracts with all the modern players (except Ted Williams), so Fleer came up with the idea for this old-timers set to keep its foot in the trading-card game. This is a very attractive high-grade complete set of this historic, classic, and often overlooked Fleer issue. Total: 79 cards.
