Presented is a 1954 Bowman near-complete master set consisting of the 225 cards (including #66 Ted Williams) in a complete set plus 35 variations (for a total of 260 cards). Missing only the following five variations for completion: #10a/two black loops in sky, 28a/birthplace N.J., 138a Hodges/.993/.991 Field Avg, 145b Martin/.983/.982 Field Avg, and 153a/100/331 assists. 1954 Bowman is one of the most overlooked (and compared to many other sets, most reasonably valued) classic bubble-gum card issues from the golden age of the 1950s. The #66 Ted Williams is the key card to the 1954 Bowman set and one of the legendary key cards among all postwar gum cards. The #66 Piersall is also included. Condition is 5% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 64% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 31% Gd to Vg (including a couple lesser and a couple that measure small). Six cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA. Keys: #1 Rizzuto (Vg), 6 Fox (Vg+), 15 Ashburn (Vg+), 45 Kiner (Nr/Mt), 57 Wilhelm (Ex), 58 Reese (Nr/Mt), 62 Slaughter (Vg-Ex), 64 Mathews (Vg-Ex), 65 Mantle (VG-EX+ 4.5), 66 Williams (EX 5), 66 Piersall (Gd+), 84 Doby (Vg), 89 Mays (EX+ 5.5), 90 Campanella (EX 5), 95 Roberts (Vg-Ex), 101 Larsen RC (Vg-Ex+), 110 Schoendienst (Vg-Ex), 132 Feller (Nr/Mt), 138b Hodges/.992/.991 Field Avg (partially erased pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg), 145a Martin/.985/.983 Field Avg (Ex), 161 Berra (Fr-Gd), 164 Wynn (Nr/Mt), 170 Snider (EX 5), 177 Ford (NM 7), and 196 Lemon (Ex). This is a very attractive mid-grade near-complete master set of this classic and often overlooked Bowman issue. Total: 260 cards (complete set of 225 plus 35 variations).
