Description

Extraordinary ultra-high-grade complete 1950 Callahan Hall of Fame set. Presented is the finest complete master set of this classic issue that we have ever offered! Every card in the set is graded and encapsulated by PSA. Issued annually from 1950 to 1956, the Callahan Hall of Fame card set was the official set of the Hall of Fame. It was updated each year until 1956 with the inductees from that year as well as some corrections and updates. The end result is a 91-card set, including nine cards with two variations. The cards released in the later years of the set, and some of the variations, are very rare, making the task of assembling a complete 91-card master set in any condition difficult. This incredible set ranks fifth on the PSA Set Registry with an impressive overall GPA of 8.91 and includes an unbelievable 83 cards graded MINT 9. It goes without saying that the assembly of this set is a tremendous collecting achievement. PSA Grading Composite: MINT 9 (83 cards): Including Cobb, DiMaggio, W. Johnson, Mathewson, Ruth, Wagner, and Young. NM-MT+ 8.5 (3 cards): E. Collins/bio "He was brilliant...," Cummings, and Gehrig. NM-MT 8 (5 cards): Dean, Simmons, P. Waner/incomplete black frame, Museum Exterior/ends "to all," and Museum Exterior/ends "playing days." An impressive 31 cards are the highest-graded examples, while 29 have only one example graded higher. Every card in the set is a pack-fresh gem with perfect gloss. This is an astonishingly ultra-high-grade complete master set of one of card collecting's most overlooked 1950s issues. Total: 91 cards. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
