Graded EX/NM+ 6.5 by SGC. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by SGC with none higher! Extremely high-grade example of this significant rarity, which is one of the all-time great baseball cards: Joe DiMaggio's second-year card. This card was issued in the 1935 Zeenut series of Pacific Coast League players. Joe DiMaggio first made his debut in professional baseball with the San Francisco Seals of the PCL, and he appeared on Zeenut cards in both 1934 and 1935. This is his 1935 throwing-pose card, the second baseball card ever issued of DiMaggio, years before he joined the Yankees. (DiMaggio is featured batting on his 1934 Zeenut card.) One of the interesting aspects of DiMaggio’s Zeenut cards is the spelling of his name. When DiMaggio joined the Seals, local newspapers misspelled his name “DeMaggio,” and that error, which was repeated often, appears on all of his Zeenut cards. This is an extremely attractive example with superb image quality, strong corners, and a clean blank reverse. As is usually the case with Zeenuts, the coupon at the bottom of this card has been neatly clipped away, as intended, to be redeemed for valuable prizes. This is a very significant and rare Joe DiMaggio card in stunning high-grade!
