Presented is a pair of original 1971 Kellogg's 3-D Football uncut sheets, each featuring sixty cards (fifteen different), highlighted by multiple examples of Hall of Famers Joe Greene (rookie), Johnny Unitas, Dick Butkus, and Bob Griese, as well as the many other stars of the day. The sheets (30 x 22 inches) are labeled individually as "Set C" and "Set D." Both uncut sheets are complete final process sheets with fully printed backs. The two sheets together, represent four partial sets of thirty cards (out of sixty in the set). The 1971 set is by far the key year for a Kellogg's football collection, as this was the only year that collectors were not offered the opportunity to order a complete set directly from Kellogg's. The only way to have assembled a 1971 Kellogg's set was to buy countless boxes of cereal, which included only one card per box. These sets have always been of great interest to collectors as they offer affordable alternatives to standard-issue Topps cards of the many Hall of Famers and stars included in each set. These sheets obviously originate from someone connected to the printing company (Xograph) or Kellogg's. Possibly they were used for proofing purposes. Both sheets display color bars along the top and have production dates handwritten along the base ("5/1/71" and "5/5/71"). There are multiple edges tears along the bottom of each sheet. The backs are boldly printed. Total: 120 cards on two sheets. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
