Description

Tremendous collection of 661 items (including postcards, cuts, index cards, checks, Topps cards, photos, etc.), each signed by a former Pittsburgh Pirates player dating from the 1930s to the 1960s. The signatures are scripted in a variety of inks. A total of 29 Hall of Fame signatures are presented here, including those of Frank Frisch, Hank Greenberg, and Willie Stargell. Also included in this sizable group is the scarce signature of Curt Roberts, the first African-American player on the Pirates. Condition of the items ranges from Very Good to Excellent, with some lesser. The key autographs listed below largely consist of index/postcards, with some photographs. Keys: Two Bunning (HOF), V. DiMaggio, two Frisch (both "The Old Flash," HOF), three Greenberg (one Yellow Hall of Fame Postcard, HOF), two Herman (HOF), two Hoyt (one Yellow Hall of Fame Postcard, HOF), five Kiner (HOF), two Kluszewski, Lindstrom (HOF), four Lopez (HOF), two Manush (HOF), Mazeroski (HOF), and five Stargell (one 1989 Perez-Steele Celebrations Postcard, HOF). Total: 661 signed items. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
