Lot # 1147: 1954-1956 Spic and Span Braves Complete Set (18)

Complete 18-card set of Spic and Span Milwaukee Braves highlighted by Eddie Mathews, Warren Spahn, and an early appearance of Hank Aaron (which has been graded by PSA). These slightly oversized cards, which measure 4 x 6 inches, were regionally issued over a three-year period and feature exclusively members of the Milwaukee Braves in black-and-white photos with a small advertisement for Spic and Span Dry Cleaners and script signatures on front. Condition is Vg-Ex to Ex overall, with a few Vg (and one lesser). Keys: Aaron (PSA GOOD 2), Mathews (Vg-Ex+), and Spahn (Ex). This is a very attractive set with many examples presenting at a far superior level than suggested by their technically accurate assigned grades. Several of these fragile, oversized cards have been downgraded due to small, light wrinkles. This is an impressive complete set of these popular regionally issued cards. Total: 18 cards.
