Rarely offered complete 60-card set of 1952 Wheaties. This series features 30 different champions and stars of the day from a wide variety of sports including baseball, basketball, football, and golf. Each player appears both in a portrait pose and an action pose. This is a very attractive complete set of one of the few vintage multisport cards sets from the era. Highlights include many of the greatest names in the history of sport. The cards from the set were issued on the backs of cereal boxes, which were intended to be hand-cut from the boxes by youngsters. This set consists of all single cards. Condition (without regard to the neatness or size of the hand cuts) is 15% Nr/Mt, 20% Ex to Ex-Mt, 46% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 19% lesser. Keys: George Mikan/portrait (Ex+), George Mikan/action (Gd), Stan Musial/portrait (Vg), Stan Musial/action (Fr), Ted Williams/portrait (Pr due to back damage), and Ted Williams/action (Vg). This is a very attractive complete set of this substantial early 1950s issue. The 1952 Wheaties set is among the most interesting and overlooked sets of the era, and in our opinion, represents an exceptional value. Total: 60 cards.
