Two-page handwritten letter, dated 12/18/56, signed by Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Ty Cobb. PSA/DNA has encapsulated each page and certified the handwriting as "Authentic." In his letter, scripted on hotel "Atlanta Biltmore" letterhead, Cobb writes "Dear Miss McMahon" and reads in part: I am here in Atlanta between planes, arrived last evening and have to get plane for San Francisco Calif. today, tried locate you by telephone but failed....I want you to know of my appreciation of the very fine & so complete the records photos etc...I derive a great pleasure and happiness in this project also in reading and rereading data you sent. Please extend my respects and regards to Dr. Caldwell. It is signed "Sincerely, Ty Cobb." Both the text and signature, written in blue ink, are boldly penned. Each page of the letter (5-1/2 x 8-3/8 inches) displays two horizontal mailing folds; otherwise in Excellent condition. (Please note both pages are clean and do not show any evidence staining, contrary to how they appear when photographed in the plastic mylar sleeves within PSA encapsulation.) Total: 2 items.
