Lot # 2136: 1971 Topps Super Near-Complete Set (61/63)

Presented is a near-complete set (61/63) of 1971 Topps Super, highlighted by many Hall of Famers and stars including Willie Mays and Hank Aaron. Missing only #32 Bench and 37 Clemente for completion. Condition is 30% Nr/Mt (including a couple Nr/Mt-Mt), 27% Ex to Ex-Mt, 23% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 20% lesser (including five with a miscut). Keys: #20 Rose (Nr/Mt), 38 Jackson (Gd+), 44 Aaron (Pr), and 56 Mays (Nr/Mt). Because of their high-quality production values and scarcity relative to other Topps sets of the era, it is a little surprising that this issue has not received more attention from collectors, but this is primarily because for many years grading companies did not have holders for this large-format issue. This is no longer the case, and collectors can now build sets of these cards in graded form just like they've done for many years with standard-sized cards.
