Lot # 2802: Circa 1910 S67 "Indian Chiefs" Silks Complete Set (50)

Complete set of fifty S67 Indian Chiefs silks, circa 1910. Issued by the American Tobacco Company, this colorful issue uses the same artwork as the N2 Allen & Ginter American Indian Chiefs series issued in 1888 and features many legendary American Indian Chiefs. Included are Geronimo, Red Cloud, Sitting Bull, Chief Joseph, and many more. Each silk measures approximately 2 x 3.25 inches. We have found this issue to be particularly challenging to find as a complete set compared to other Indian silks. This is a very attractive set, bright and clean with outstanding color, ranging from Ex to Nr/Mt condition, with a couple lesser. Included is an extremely rare original mailing envelope showing postal use, grading very modestly due to creases, tears, and missing pieces. Total: 50 silks plus envelope.
