Lot # 381: 1909-1911 T206 White Border Hooks Wiltse Portrait, with Cap PSA VG 3 - Extremely Rare Brown Lenox Back

Graded VG 3 by PSA. Presented is a desirable example of one of the rarest of all T206 advertising reverses: the Brown Lenox. Brown Lenox backs are one of the key rarities of any complete T206 advertising-back collection, far rarer even than Uzit or Drum backs. They are virtually nonexistent. To date, PSA has authenticated only 31 examples (of all players combined)! The obverse of this card features Hooks Wiltse (portrait, with cap). Bright and crisp with bold colors, excellent centering, honest corner wear, and light wrinkling at the bottom. The important advertising reverse is boldly printed and mostly clean. This is an extraordinary card that is worthy of the most advanced T206 or rare sample-card collection. There has always been great interest in rare T206 advertising backs, and in recent years, we have seen more collectors assembling T206 back collections than ever before. The Brown Lenox back is one of the extreme rarities that keeps just about every collection from completion. This is an outstanding example of this tremendous advertising-back rarity and one that would make a worthy addition to any T206 back collection.
