Graded VG 3 by PSA. This is the ONLY example that has ever been graded by PSA (or SGC)! Formal studio cabinet photo of New York Giants pitcher Doc Crandall, produced in 1908-1909 by Hall's Studio in New York City. The photographer's name and address ("Hall's Studio" and "1456-58-60 Broadway, Bet 41st & 42nd St., N.Y.") are printed along the front base of the mount. According to The Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards, seven different cards are known from this set and each pictures a member of the New York Giants. It is interesting to note that the image of Crandall seen here is the very same one used for his T206 White Border (portrait pose, no cap) tobacco card, which was enhanced by the ATC art department. This is the first Hall's Studio cabinet that we have handled in the past 22 years (we have two different examples in this current auction). The cabinet card (4-3/8 x 6-1/2 inches) displays moderate handling wear and a light stain on the reverse.
