Lot # 628: 1916 M101-4 Herpolsheimer #38 Ty Cobb PSA EX-MT 6 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by PSA with none higher! Superb high-grade example of Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the 1916 Herpolsheimer set. The 1916 Herpolsheimer set is very similar in design to M101-4 and M101-5 Sporting News, but with advertising on the reverse for the "Herpolsheimer Co. – Boy’s Fashion Shop – Grand Rapids – Mich." Bright and crisp with light corner wear and centering toward the right. Herpolsheimer cards have a glossy coated surface that is very susceptible to creasing, but the offered example is free of any creases or wrinkles. The advertising reverse is clean and boldly printed. This is an exceptional high-grade example, which would be a significant addition to a type card, Cobb, or prewar Hall of Fame card collection.
