Lot # 623: 1916 M101-4 Indianapolis Brewing Co. #64 Chic Gandil ("Black Sox") PSA VG-EX 4 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by PSA with none higher! Indianapolis Brewing is an exceedingly rare back for any M101-4, let alone for future Black Sox member Chic Gandil. The 1916 Indianapolis Brewing Co. set is identical in design to M101-4 and M101-5 Sporting News (as is the case with all the M101-4 and M101-5 sets issued by various local establishments), but with advertising on the reverse for the "Indianapolis Brewing Co. – Indianapolis, Indiana." This is a great card with any back, but the advertising reverse in this case certainly does deserve prominent mention and potentially adds a very special dimension of interest. This card has superb clarity and honest corner wear. The reverse advertisement for Indianapolis Brewing Company is boldly printed in black. This is a very attractive example worthy of the finest Chic Gandil or rare vintage baseball-card collection.
