Complete 32-card set of 1962 Statistic Back Exhibits. These unnumbered black-and-white cards were issued on thick cardboard and have the player's statistics printed in black on the reverse. The set is highlighted by many of the great stars of the era including Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Sandy Koufax, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, and Stan Musial. Condition is 46% Ex to Ex-Mt (mostly Ex), 16% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 38% lesser (mostly due to small spots of paper loss on the reverse). Keys: Aaron (small tape repair on reverse, otherwise Pr due to back damage), Banks (Ex), Berra (Ex), Clemente (Ex+), Koufax (Fr due to small spot of paper loss on reverse), Mantle (Ex), Maris (Gd due to small spot of paper loss on reverse), Mays (Fr due to small spot of paper loss on reverse), and Musial (Pr due to small spot of paper loss on reverse). The Statistic Back Exhibit card sets (they were issued in 1963 also) are among the most interesting and overlooked sets of the early 1960s, an era in which competition in the card manufacturing world spurred innovation among all card companies, prompting the Exhibit Supply Company to add statistic backs. Total: 32 cards.
