Official National League baseball (Giles) signed in blue ink by 26 members of the 1954 World Champion New York Giants, including Mays, Irvin, Thompson (deceased in 1969 at the young age of 43), Gardner, Grissom, Castleman, Konikowski, McCall, Liddle, Taylor, Jansen, Katt, Corwin, Mueller, Hearn, Westrum, Lockman, Dark, Hofman, Rhodes, Worthington, Amalfitano, Giel, Williams, and Antonelli. The signature example of Leo Durocher that appears on the sweet spot is a stamp (common for Durocher). The ball displays light toning and is in Excellent condition overall. The Giants swept the heavily favored Cleveland Indians in the 1954 World Series to capture their first World Championship since 1933. Although Dusty Rhodes was the hitting star for the Giants, it was Willie Mays' miraculous catch of a ball hit off the bat of Vic Wertz in Game 1 that remains the defining moment of the Series. This is a desirable New York Giants team ball representing the club's final World Championship in New York. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
