Presented is a 1953 Stahl-Meyer Mickey Mantle, one of the rarest and most attractive of all Mantle cards. Stahl-Meyers were regionally issued in the New York area, one card per package with Stahl-Meyer Franks. The set features a selection of stars from all three New York teams. They are usually found with serious condition problems relating to their method of issue, including creases and hot-dog stains. Graded POOR 1 by PSA, the offered example is downgraded largely due to heavy creasing. Despite the flaws, it is still a pleasing low-grade example of one of the keys of all 1950s regional issues and one of the most highly prized of all Mantle cards.
