Lot # 656: 1922 Eastern Exhibit Supply Co. Ty Cobb PSA VG-EX 4 (MC)

Graded VG-EX 4 (MC) by PSA (submitted by REA). Outstanding mid-grade example of Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the sepia-toned 1922 Eastern Exhibit Supply Co. series. Cards from this unusual and distinctive Exhibit-style set are considerably rarer than the black-and-white Exhibit cards of the same era. The card is bright and crisp with outstanding picture quality and light corner wear. The team name along the base has been partially cut off, hence the "MC" qualifier by PSA. The card has never been mailed and has no writing on its traditional postcard-style reverse. It is interesting to note that the printed copyright line on the back with the company's Philadelphia address has been blacked out and the new Chicago address is printed below it.
