Description

Offered is an example of Babe Ruth from the W516-1-2 strip-card series. Ruth is depicted in a pitching pose as a member of the New York Yankees. This classic 1920-era strip-card issue consists of 10 cards, and Babe Ruth is unquestionably the key card. Originally issued in strips, these cards (and almost all strip-cards) are often found with irregular borders as they were cut by hand from the strips, as intended. Only ideally cut examples (which are few and far between) are awarded numerical grades by PSA (and SGC). Graded POOR 1 by PSA, the offered example displays moderate creasing, honest corner wear, and a few tiny punctures on the lower portion of the card. Despite its flaws, this remains a very presentable example of Babe Ruth's most classic 1920s strip-card and one that would be a significant addition to any Babe Ruth, strip-card, or prewar-card collection.
