Modestly graded example of New York Yankees Hall of Famer Babe Ruth from the W514 strip-card series. The W514 set is the largest and most widely collected of the various strip-card issues of the era. Babe Ruth is one of the key Hall of Famers in the W514 set. Strip cards are by definition hand-cut, as intended. The ever-so-slightly irregular cuts characteristic to the issue, which many times affect a small portion of the cutting guidelines, often disqualify cards from getting a numerical grade from the professional grading companies. The offered example is a rare exception, displaying an accurate cut on all sides. Ruth's image is "ghosted" and clearly visible upon close inspection. Graded POOR 1 by PSA largely due to heavy creasing, corner wear, and light soiling on the blank reverse. This is a very desirable low-grade example of one of Babe Ruth's classic 1920s strip cards.
