Lot # 1677: 1961 to 1963 Post Cereal and Jell-O Collection (705) Including 85 Hall of Famers

Presented is a very substantial collection of 705 assorted 1961 to 1963 Post Cereal and Jell-O baseball cards. This collection is highlighted by 85 Hall of Famers, including Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Sandy Koufax, and Roberto Clemente. All the grades in the condition composite are without respect to the neatness of the cut, as most of the cards are cut inside of the borders and would only qualify for "Authentic" if submitted for professional grading (this pertains less to the "company" cards, which are perforated and generally present neater, although many of these cards have also been cut). This collection consists of the following: 1) 1961 Post (287 cards): Condition is 12% Ex or better, 45% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 43% lesser. This collection is composed of both company cards (11%, perforated cards available on sheets directly from Post via mail-in offer) and box cards (89%, available on cereal boxes and intended to be hand-cut). Keys: #1 Berra (trimmed inside perforations, otherwise Vg-Ex+, company), three 7 Maris (all Fr, two Box and one company), 22 Wynn (Pr, box), 163 Roach (Fr, box), three 167 Snider (Ex+, Vg+, Pr-Fr, all box), 132 Clemente (Ex+, company), and two 145 Mays (pencil mark on reverse, otherwise Gd+, box, and trimmed inside perforations, otherwise Vg, company). Includes 20 additional Hall of Famers, with Ford, Drysdale, and Roberts. 2) 1962 Post (238 cards): Condition is 5% Ex or better, 50% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 45% lesser. Robinson (Vg+), 147 Mathews (Vg), two 149 Aaron (Vg-Ex and Gd+), 161, 162, 163, 187, four 188 Banks (Ex and three Vg), and 198 Roberts. 4) 1963 Post (110 cards): Condition is 10% Ex to Ex-Mt, 45% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 45% lesser. Keys: #10 Kaat, 101 Cepeda, 118 Snider (cut small, otherwise Pr), two 138 Mazeroski, 156 Torre, 169 Banks (Vg), and 170 Santo. 5) 1963 Jell-O (42 cards): Condition is 25% Ex to Ex-Mt, 31% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 44% lesser. Keys: #5 Killebrew (Gd), two 13 Richardson (Fr-Gd and Fr), 59 B. Robinson (Vg-Ex), 106 Mays (Pr due mostly to pinholes), 118 Snider (Pr), 121 Koufax (Gd+), and 138 Mazeroski.
