Description

Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. SGC. Scarce and desirable Buck Weaver card from the 1911 Zeenut PCL series. One of the few and perhaps the most majestic of all issued cards featuring Weaver, a key member of the infamous 1919 "Black Sox." He is pictured in full uniform with San Francisco of the Pacific Coast League, before his Major League playing days with the Chicago White Sox. Due to its method of issue (one card per box of candy) and large size (2.25 x 4 inches), this card is usually found in low grade. The offered card displays superb image clarity and moderate corner wear. Light creasing and a few small spots of paper loss on the reverse contribute to the assigned grade. A very presentable example of what many collectors consider to be Weaver’s most attractive and desirable card from this scarce early minor league issue.
