Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC. Highest-graded example! Rare card of St. Louis Browns owner Chris Von Der Ahe from the N172 Old Judge Brownie Champs series. The Brownie Champs set has always been among the most distinctive and popular of all Old Judges. Von Der Ahe was one of the most prominent team owners of the 19th century and is recognized as the second most desirable card in the entire Brownie Champs set (behind only Hall of Famer and future prominent team owner Charles Comiskey). This card has outstanding photo contrast, light corner wear, and excellent centering. A small amount of light soiling is visible on the blank reverse. This is a superb example of one of the key cards from the classic 1886 Brownies Champs subset.
