Presented is a near-complete set of 1963 Jell-O baseball consisting of 161 different cards, out of 200 in the set. Complete Jell-O sets have always been difficult to assemble, even when they were issued in the early 1960s! These cards were issued only one card per Jell-O box. In addition, the set includes numerous rarities because some cards were issued only with certain unpopular flavors. Condition is 14% Ex to Ex-Mt, 64% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 22% lesser (including one altered). The preceding grades, as well as those in the composite below, are without respect to the neatness of the cut as most of the cards are cut inside at least one border and might only qualify for "Authentic" if submitted for professional grading. Keys: #5 Killebrew (Vg-Ex), 15 Mantle (tiny ink marks at right edge, otherwise Vg+), 16 Maris (Vg+), 17 Berra (Gd+), 19 Ford (Vg-Ex), 51 Kaline (Vg-Ex), 80 Yastrzemski (Pr), 106 Mays (Vg), 121 Koufax (Gd), 135 Keough (Vg), 143 Clemente (Ex), 152 Aaron (Gd+), 169 Banks (Gd+), 176 Bertell (Fr), and 187 Aspromonte (Vg). Missing the following thirty-nine cards for completion: #2, 3, 6, 10, 12, 27, 31, 34, 38, 45, 52, 55, 61 Adair, 63, 65, 72, 74 Cline, 89 Charles, 95, 97, 122, 128, 132, 140, 146, 153, 156, 157 Cloninger, 161 Gotay, 163, 164, 166 Gibson, 167, 172 B. Williams, 175 Landrum, 181, 192 Farrell, 199, and 200. A very attractive and mostly medium-grade near-complete set of this very scarce and underrated early 1960s food issue. Total: 161 cards.
