Graded VG/EX+ 55 by SGC. This is the ONLY example graded by SGC! Superb example of Boston Red Sox pitcher Ray Collins from the scarce 1916 D381 Fleischmann Bakery issue. The D381 set is a scarce bread issue produced by New York City-based Fleischmann Bakery for distribution with its products. D381s, such as this example, were also issued under the Ferguson Bakery brand and can be distinguished by the "FERGUSON BAKERY" print on the coupon. These large cards (2-3/8 x 4-7/8 inches) are printed on thin stock and have a coupon at the bottom designed to be clipped and exchanged (fifty coupons plus fifty cents) for a leather album designed to hold the cards. Many of the surviving examples are found with the coupon clipped, but the offered example is fully intact, which is the exception rather than the rule. The card has a crisp image, light corner wear, and excellent centering. The blank back in mainly clean. This is a rare card from one of the most condition-sensitive prewar bakery-card issues.
