Description

Presented is a 1971 Topps set. At 752 cards, it is the largest set of Topps cards issued up to that time. The black flush-to-the-border design of the 1971 Topps set makes this issue particularly challenging to collect in extremely high grade. Condition is 10% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 81% ranging from Vg to Ex (averaging Vg-Ex and including a couple lesser), and 9% with color added (mostly from the high-number series of #644-752). Seven cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA. Keys: #5 Munson (Vg), 20 Jackson (EX-MT 6), 26 Blyleven RC (Vg), 55 Carlton (EX-MT 6), 100 Rose (Vg+), 117 Simmons RC (Vg+), 160 Seaver (Ex), 210 Carew (EX 5), 237 (EX 5), 250 Bench (EX 5), 341 Garvey RC (Ex), 380 Williams (EX-MT 6), 400 Aaron (Ex+), 513 Ryan (Vg), 525 Banks (Ex), 530 Yastrzemski (2/98 L/R, otherwise Ex-Mt), 550 Killebrew (10/90 L/R, otherwise Ex), 570 Palmer (Vg-Ex+), 574 Bunning (EX-MT 6), 600 Mays (Vg), 625 Brock (Nr/Mt+), 630 Clemente (Ex), 640 F. Robinson (color added, otherwise Vg), and 709 Baylor/Baker RC (color added, otherwise Vg-Ex). Notwithstanding the presence of some cards with color added, this is still a very attractive and mostly mid-grade complete set. Total: 752 cards.
