Lot # 2330: 1948 Babe Ruth Signed Check PSA/DNA NM+ 7.5 - Signed and Endorsed by Claire Ruth with Full "George Herman Ruth" Signature!

Personal trust account check, dated April 1, 1948, signed by both Babe Ruth and his wife Claire in their capacity as trustees. The lettering printed in the upper-left corner reads, "George Herman Ruth and Claire Ruth. As Trustees Under Trust Indenture - Dated July 31, 1947." The check, made out to "Cash" in the amount of $200.00 and drawn on The Chase National Bank of the City of New York, has been signed in black ink on the front by "George Herman Ruth" and also by "Claire Ruth." PSA/DNA has encapsulated the check and graded the signatures NM+ 7.5. Claire has also endorsed the check in black ink on the reverse. Written in pencil on the reverse of the check is the notation "expenses for house on our return from Mr. Ruth's vacation in Fla-." This check was signed just four months prior to Ruth's death on August 16. The check (8.5 x 3 inches) displays a vertical fold, a spindle hole, and light creasing, as well as normal bank cancellation stamps and perforations. This is a particularly rare and unusual style Ruth check, signed by Claire Ruth and signed by Babe with a rare full "George Herman Ruth" signature. In Very Good condition overall.
