Graded GOOD 2 by SGC. Presented is a very rarely offered M101-6 Felix Mendelsohn Ty Cobb. The M101-6 set was produced by Chicago publisher Felix Mendelsohn and was offered in the pages of the Sporting News over a period of several years (approximately 1917 through 1920). This card of Ty Cobb is one of the key cards to this rare set. Though technically accurate, the modest SGC-assigned grade on this particular card does not tell the whole story. It clearly presents at a much superior level! The image of Cobb batting is exceptionally crisp with flawless registration. Moderate creasing and soiling on the reverse accounts for the technically accurate grade and does not significantly distract from the overall presentation of this card. There is honest wear at the corners and a small chip of paper loss below Cobb's bat. A very attractive example of this rare Ty Cobb card.
