Lot # 3763: 1930 St. Louis Cardinals (vs. Philadelphia Athletics) World Series Program

Program issued for the 1930 World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Athletics at Sportsman's Park. The 16-page program features portrait images of both the Cardinals and A's team members, as well as league and team officials. The preprinted lineups include Frisch, Bottomley, Hafey, Haines, and Douthit for St. Louis, and Cochrane, Simmons, Foxx, Grove, Dykes, and Miller for Philadelphia. Although not scored, the program had to have been issued for either Game 3 or 4, as those were the only two St. Louis home games in the Series. The A's defeated the Cardinals in 6 games, giving Connie Mack his second consecutive World Championship. The program (9 x 11.75 inches, which is unscored, displays a vertical fold down the center. There are several surface abrasions along the covers (which are both toned) and a patch of paper loss along the back cover. The interior pages remain bright and clean. Good condition overall.
