Presented is a very attractive example of Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Fred Clarke from the 1910 E125 American Caramel Die-cut series. The fragile nature of all die-cut cards and the easily broken flaps at the base of E125s, which allow them to stand, make complete, high-grade examples all the rarer. This E125 Fred Clarke is encapsulated as Authentic by SGC due to one flap missing. The card otherwise presents with a Fair appearance The card is bright and crisp with bold colors, heavy creasing, and scattered spots of foxing on the front. The reverse of the card, which features a complete checklist of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the set and advertising for American Caramels, has light toning visible. This is a magnificent example of perhaps the rarest of all Fred Clarke cards, from one of the rarest and most condition-sensitive of all caramel card issues.
