Lot # 488: Extremely Rare Circa 1913-1914 Sophomore Perfect Clothes Advertising Card with Walter Johnson and Ed Walsh SGC FAIR 1.5

Rare advertising card promoting "Sophomore Perfect Clothes," circa 1913-1914. The black-and-white card, which measures 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches, features an image of Walter Johnson, Joe Wood, and Ed Walsh. The caption "One Hundred Thousand Dollars Worth of Pitchers" is printed in black lettering below the image. The card has the advertisement "Sophomore Perfect Clothes" printed into the photo. The card has a blank back. This card was likely issued as a promotional giveaway by the clothing store (research has led to a men's apparel store in the Midwest). Graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC, the card displays moderate creasing and even corner wear. This is the only example of this card that we have ever seen!
