Description

Presented is a stunning example of Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Honus Wagner from the 1915 Cracker Jack set. This is understandably one of Wagner's most striking and popular cards. Encapsulated as "Authentic" by PSA due to evidence of trimming (submitted by REA), this is still a stunning example with an overall Ex to Ex-Mt appearance. Well centered, with outstanding color, perfect registration, an extremely bold red background, and four square corners. Clean, boldly printed reverse. A slight trim along the bottom border accounts for the assigned grade. This card obviously came direct from an original "Factory Set," available directly from Cracker Jack by mail in 1915. Individual Cracker Jack cards were packaged with each box, but cards issued in boxes tend to have various condition problems, including caramel staining. The "Flying Dutchman" is one of the big three key cards in the set, along with Cobb and Jackson. The card certainly has a superb overall appearance and would be a welcome addition to almost any collection of Cracker Jack, Honus Wagner, or Hall of Fame cards.
