Lot # 1625: 1971 Milk Duds Near-Complete Set of Full Boxes (58/72)

Offered is an outstanding near-complete set of 1971 Milk Duds presented in fifty-eight assembled complete boxes (of the 72 in the set), including numerous Hall of Famers and stars, highlighted by Aaron, Mays, Rose, Bench, and Munson. Milk Duds, the popular chocolate candy, featured cards on the back panel of the boxes in 1971 that were designed to be hand-cut by youngsters. It is the method of issue along with the hand-cut nature that often makes cards from this series appear in lesser condition than found here. There is, as is to be expected, minor creases or wrinkling on the non-card areas of most boxes. The card areas grade Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt overall, with 15% lesser due to wrinkles or minor flaws in the card area. The location of the box folds varies, including some very close to (or on top of) the card border lines. We have selected four cards for grading and encapsulation at PSA: #1 Rose (EX-MT 6), 3 Mays (EX 5), 5 Munson (EX 5), and 11 Aaron (EX 5). Missing the following 14 cards for completion: Banks, Clemente, Fosse, Gibson, Harper, 24b Killebrew, Merritt, Oliva, Pappas, G. Perry, 23c B. Robinson, F. Robinson, 2c Rose, and B. Williams. This is a very attractive mid- to high-grade near-complete set from this popular 1970s food issue. Total: 58 boxes.
