Attractive complete set of R173 Gum Inc. "The World in Arms" cards, which feature some of the finest artwork of any Gum, Inc., production. The set is organized into six separate series, each with a different theme relating to the arms of the world: "Airplanes," "Ships," "Iron Calvary," "Field Artillery," "Fortifications," and "Miscellaneous." Created in the same era as the gruesome "Horrors of War" issue, the R173 World in Arms series focuses on the weapons used by countries involved in the war efforts. Condition is 21% Ex or better (including #2 Fortifications/"Guns of the Maginot" graded PSA EX 5), 66% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 13% lesser (including one trimmed). This set is accompanied by the following six 1939 V276 O-Pee-Chee "Fighting Forces" cards: #M1 (Ex), M5 (Vg-Ex+), M6 (Vg-Ex+), S7 (Vg+), S8 (Vg+), and S12 (Vg+).
