Description

Offered is a complete set of this fascinating and very scarce 1930s nonsport-card issue that features scenes and text illustrating the history of espionage from the days of the American Civil War to World War II. "This is a True Spy Story. The names of some of the characters have been changed in order not to embarrass the government." This announcement appears at the top of the reverse of each of the twenty-four cards in the set. Includes one duplicate (#21). The following six cards are graded by SGC: #2 (VG/EX 50), 3 (VG/EX 50), 7 (EX/NM 80), 10 (EX 60), 20 (EX/NM 80), and 22 (VG/EX 50). The condition of the nineteen-card unencapsulated balance is five Ex, three Vg-Ex, six Vg, four Gd, and one trimmed (#1, otherwise Gd). The fascinating subject matter and vivid artwork have always made this set a favorite with collectors. This is a very attractive complete set, with most cards bright and clean, of this popular nonsport issue. Total: 25 cards (set of 24 plus one duplicate).
