Presented is a near-complete set of R164 "War Gum" consisting of 126 different cards (out of 132 in the set). Missing the following six cards for completion: #35, 77, 80, 85, 93, and 123. Includes the following eight duplicates: Two #28, 31, 57, 81, 95, and two 127. These cards, issued by Gum, Inc., in 1941, feature military men in various scenes of battle during the Second World War. Their outstanding color, detailed artwork, historically significant subject matter, and the exciting narratives presented on the backs all contribute to making this set one of nonsport collecting's all-time classics. Condition is 15% Vg-Ex to Ex (mostly Vg-Ex), 61% Gd to Vg, and 34% Pr to Fr. An attractive medium- to lower-grade near-complete set of one of the most popular nonsport sets ever issued.
