Extremely rare caramel card of #38 Babe Ruth from the 1927 E126 American Caramel set. This set is of special note as it was produced in 1927, the final year that the American Caramel Company issued cards. Significantly fewer examples from the E126 set are offered compared to the earlier sets produced by American Caramel. This extremely rare card of Babe Ruth is naturally the key to the set and features a striking montage of two Ruth images with a posed photo of Ruth holding a bat superimposed in front of a larger portrait of the Babe. The offered example displays a crisp image of Ruth. Boldly printed promotional offer and advertisement on the reverse. Graded POOR 1 by SGC, flaws include heavy corner wear, creasing, and soiling. Despite these condition issues, this remains a presentable and affordable example of this rare and extremely high-quality Ruth caramel-card dating from the magical year of 1927.
