Lot # 129: 1907 Detroit Tigers Real-Photo Team Postcard Including Ty Cobb Rookie

Real-photo postcard capturing 20 members of the 1907 American League Champion Detroit Tigers in a classic team pose, including Ty Cobb in his rookie season, manager Hughie Jennings, Sam Crawford, George Mullin, and Germany Schaefer. The white-letter caption along the base reads “Detroit’s 1907.” 1907 marked the first of Detroit’s three consecutive American League Championship seasons, all of which ultimately ended with a World Series loss. There are ink notations along the white, right border, and the reverse has been addressed and mailed. The postcard (5.5 x 3.5 inches) displays moderate corner and edge wear, along with paper loss and glue residue on the reverse. Encapsulated as "Authentic" by SGC.
