Lot # 128: 1907-1909 Detroit Tigers Team Postcard with Ty Cobb Rookie SGC FAIR 1.5

Graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC (submitted by REA). Attractive Detroit Tigers team postcard featuring Ty Cobb in his rookie season. 1907 was a great year for the Tigers franchise as it marked the first of three consecutive American League pennants (though the team lost the World Series each year) as well as the start of Cobb's Hall of Fame career. The postcard has outstanding photo clarity and contrast. The image features the very young Cobb in the center. Also included in the photo are fellow Hall of Famers Hughie Jennings and Sam Crawford. The postcard has light corner wear (paper loss on top right) and evidence of corner mount marks on the reverse, which has not been addressed or mailed. This is a very attractive low-grade example of this early Detroit Tigers postcard dating from Ty Cobb's rookie season.
